Walking School Bus Program Comes to the Monterey Peninsula!
| For Families | Join the Walking School Bus!
A walking school bus is an adult-supervised walking group to and from school. Walking is one of the best ways to get and stay healthy, which is why we are inviting the residents of Marina, Seaside and Monterey to join a Walking School Bus in their community this April.
How to Participate
Monterey County Health Department and Transportation Agency staff will lead walking school buses to Bayview Academy, J.C. Crumpton , Ord Terrace and Del Rey Woods Elementary schools once per week through April 2022 and welcome families to join!
- Walking School Bus participants will meet at the designated starting points listed below for
the following schools:- Bayview Academy (Monterey) – Meet on April 5th @ 8am @ the Naval Post Graduate School on Del Monte Avenue (Map)
- Ord Terrace Elementary School (Seaside) – Meet on April 6th @ 7:20am @ St. Francis Xavier Church on La Selle Avenue (Map)
- Del Rey Woods Elementary (Greenfield) – Meet on April 7th @ 7:20am @ Seaside Hilltop Church on Hilby Ave (Map)
- Marina Vista Elementary School (Marina) – Meet on April 8th @ 7:20am @ Community of Christ Church at Reindollar Avenue (Map)
- J.C. Crumpton Elementary (Marina) – Meet April 12th @ 7:20am @ Community of Christ Church at Reindollar Avenue (Map)
Prizes
Join the walking school bus on April 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th or 12th and get safety prizes and healthy snacks when you arrive at school!

Park & Walk
Live too far to walk all the way from home to school? No problem! You can still get some exercise in and help reduce traffic around the school. Just park a block or two away and walk the rest of the way to school.
